Obituary of David R. Beckwith
Following a lengthy battle with cancer, David R Beckwith passed away October 5, 2024 at the age of 84.
He will be missed by his loving wife of 27 years Deborah A. Beckwith; his stepchildren Colette Giardella (Craig), Bryon Salerno; his grandchildren, Morgan Araujo and Madison Giardella; his sisters in law, Camille Brinkworth, and Donna Brinkworth; his loving nieces and nephews Amy Flemming ( Matthew), Matthew Wasmund (Cathy), Eric Wasmund (Anne Marie Fulani) Laurie Brinkworth Cozzalino (Adam), Alex Brinkworth, Ronald Brinkworth, Jennifer Grzymala, Edward Grzymala, Christopher Grzymala and Emily Brinkworth Wurtz (Mike) and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
David was pre-deceased by his parents, David, A Beckwith and Florence Brothers Beckwith; his mother and father-in-law Marjorie and Henry Brinkworth; sister Nancy Wasmund; his brothers-
in-law Maynard Wasmund, Henry Brinkworth, Russell Brinkworth and Ronald Brinkworth; his stepson Jamie Salerno and nephew, Timothy Wasmund.
David was born in Buffalo New York and graduated from Amerherts HS. Then went on to serve in the US Navy from 1959 - 1965. He went on to graduate from Onondaga
Community College. Serve as a Kawanian in Oneonta for many years. His passion for skiing sent him to teaching skiing for many years and various ski resorts in New York.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 2 -4 PM and 7 -9 PMwith a funeral service at 8:30 PM, Decker Funeral Home, 5312 Main St., Windham.
Donations can be made in David’s name to Saint Judes , Tunnels to Towers or the Bing Center for Waldenstorms at Dana Faber Hospital in Boston.
