Obituary of David A. Casazza

David Allen Casazza, AKA D8-Dave, of Ashland, New York passed away unexpectedly at the age of 63 on May 1st, 2024 at Albany Medical Center, Albany NY. 

David was born to Kenneth and Jean Casazza on October 28, 1960, in Staten Island, New York. 

If you had the honor to know Dave, you know his passion and his greatest hobby was his cars. He owned his own body shop in Staten Island, where he restored classic cars to reflect their original beauty. Moving to Windham later on David and his father built a business together, KJ Modular Homes and built many homes around the area. Dave continued his talent of carpentry, excavation, and building houses under DC Builders. 

David is survived by his Mother, Jean Casazza, Carolyn and David’s son, Michael Casazza (Chelsea), his girlfriend, Dorothy Cooke, nieces and nephews, Michelle Casazza, Wayne Casazza, Joseph Casazza, great nieces and nephews, Valerie and Trenton Petrie. Predeceased by his Father, Kenneth Caszza, brother Wayne Casazza, sister Debra LaRosa. 

David’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his closest friends, working with his son and spending time at his shop tinkering on equipment or working on his cars. David will be greatly missed by all who had the honor to know him, his closest friends and family. 

Services for David will be held on May 8th, 2024 from 5-8pm at Decker’s Funeral Home in Windham, New York. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Greene County Women’s League for the Cancer Patient Aid Car Show located in Ashland, PO Box 341 Round Top, NY 12473.
