Obituary of Margaret Olive Mulford
Margaret Olive England Mulford passed away peacefully at 98 years of age on March 8th, 2024 at The Pines Nursing Home, Catskill NY. She was born on September 30th, 1925 to parents Karl and Pauline Denenkamp, predeceased by husband Wesley Mulford, brother Karl Jr. and sister Louise. She is survived by her daughter Diane E. Reed, grandchildren Bradley Reed (Julie), Ashley Reedman (Kalynn), and four great grandchildren Gabriela, Owen, Sutton, and Hudson.
A graduate of Hunter College with a BA degree and master's degree, Margaret became a beloved elementary school teacher at Windham-Ashland-Jewett CSD with many, many students of many years passing her classroom. She was active in Eastern Star and was Past Matron, and served on the Windham library board from 1984-2020. She was a lover of books, birds, bowling, and baseball (let’s go Mets!), not to be diminished by her passion for animals and plants. Her strong health, family bonds, and sense of humor carried her for many years until her death. An avid conversationalist, she enjoyed her time among visiting friends and family while thriving in the nature of the Catskills in the house built by her and her late husband, Wesley, until her recent stay at The Pines Nursing Home.
Margaret’s family wishes to thank her caregivers at The Pines Nursing Home in Catskill, NY for their care and kindness. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Heart of the Catskills Humane Society.
