Upon leaving the seminary he went to the University of Oklahoma where he received his graduate degree in petroleum engineering.
On April 16, 1955, Jim married his wife Joan. Their marriage was celebrated at the Saint Ignatius Catholic Church on Park Ave, after which they returned to Oklahoma in order for Jim to complete his graduate degree.
Upon graduating, Jim and Joan moved to Louisiana and Jim began a career in the oil business with Texaco. However, the distance from their large families and all of their friends in NYC eventually drew them back home, where Jim began work at National Securities in the mutual fund business.
He raised his family and maintained a home in Manhasset, NY for over thirty years.
Over the years, Jim would change careers in an effort to fulfill his passion to give back. He taught for many years in the tough schools of East New York where his gift for making people feel valued and loved, and his tremendous sense of humor made him a much beloved teacher.
After retiring to Windham NY, Jim went back to his old love of petroleum engineering and used his expertise working with the New York State Dept.
of Conservation.
His deep faith and total devotion to our Lord guided him throughtout his life. For many years, he was a daily communicant at St Theresa of the Child Jesus R.C. Church
