Obituary of Margaret F. Haner
Margaret (Peggy) Haner, age 88 of Hensonville, NY passed away peacefully at home on July 12, 2023 with her family by her side.
Peggy was born June 19, 1935 to the late William and Susan (Lowery) Carey in Brooklyn, NY. Peggy spent her youth and early adulthood in Brooklyn until she moved to Greene County in the 1960s, where she met and married the love of her life, Charlie Haner.
Peggy was very close with her family and her many friends. She loved having a good time and especially loved family gatherings, of which she hosted many over the years.
Peggy was predeceased by her parents, William and Susan, her husband, Charlie Haner, her brothers, Andrew, Robert and William Carey, sons, Kevin and Wayne Haner, and daughter, Darleen Haner.
Peggy leaves behind her son, John (Terri) Murphy, daughter, Maura (Mark) Anders, son, Frank (Debbie) Haner, and Daughter-in-law, Sarah Haner. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Stephanie Haner, Haille Haner, Charlie Murphy, Nicole Vinias, Andrew Pascarella, Amanda (Yiannis) Kokolis, Danielle (Edward) Hunt, Nichole Porter, Taylor Haner, Arden Haner, Cameron Haner, Amanda Schlosser, and many great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and beloved friends.
Mom, we will always carry your memory in our hearts and cherish the experiences and time we shared with you.
All are welcome to celebrate Peggy's legacy of love and happiness. Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 17, 2023
from 4-6pm at Decker Funeral Home, 5312 Main St., Windham,
NY 12496. There will be a graveside service held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 1pm at the Ashland Cemetery.
Our family would also like to thank Hospice for their loving care during Peggy's final time she was able to spend with us.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Hospice of Catskill (47 Liberty Street Catskill, NY
12414), whose services made all the difference at the end.
