Obituary of Paul N Parker
Paul N. Parker (67) of Hensonville, NY passed away peacefully at home on July 8, 2023 with his loving wife, Beth, and brother, Karl, by his side.
Born December 1, 1955 to the late Bernard (Bernie) and Ida Mae (Losee) Parker, Paul spent his early childhood days playing on the old Normanskill Dairy Farm, and making many memories with his siblings and neighborhood friends.
Paul’s free spirited personality was calling for the adventure of experience and the unknown, so he set off to wander the country and gain a life’s worth of lessons and advice that he would later share, in his own offbeat way, with his granddaughters and their friends.
Once he returned from this adventure, Paul lived in Watervliet where he bought a home and perfected his contracting skills. After taking much pride in his time spent employed at Passano Paint and within the construction field in the local community, Paul realized his dream of starting his own general contracting business, Marshall Arts Fine Interiors, in February 1998 which remained in full swing until earlier this year. The start of this was a particularly proud moment for Paul and once he received his DBA, he proceeded directly to the printer to get his own business cards with a smile ear to ear, and his enthusiasm for the craft never faded.
Paul married his wife, Beth whom he called his “soul mate and best friend” and they moved to Hensonville, NY where they shared a beautiful 25 years together growing in their love and their faith in GOD. During this time Paul leaned into his family life and his business. Over the coming years, Paul would develop strong community ties through congregation and business networking.
One of Paul’s greatest happinesses in life was spending time with his granddaughters, and he was an absolute constant in their lives. He spent many hours on the road with a minivan full of kids going on a variety of fun-filled outings from the movies, to trampoline parks, to weeklong camping trips. The home he shared with his wife was known as a safe haven and a place of laughs for all the kids.
Loved by many for his calm and gentle heart, Paul was the guiding light for his family, and was a pillar of faith throughout his courageous battle with cancer.
Paul left behind his loving wife of 25 years, Beth Parker (Marshall), daughter Amber (George) Dart, son Eric Choppy, his favorite people (next to his wife) - granddaughters Ryleigh Mele with whom he shared a particularly strong bond, Nyssa Dart, Gabrielle and Kayla Choppy as well as his loving older siblings, many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.
We will always carry your memory in our hearts, and always cherish the experiences and the time we shared with you.
All are welcome to celebrate Paul’s legacy of love and happiness at calling hours held on Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 12pm -1:30pm at Decker funeral Home, 5312 Main St., Windham, NY 12496. A funeral service will follow at 1:30 pm.
