Judy, and her late husband Gordon, were my neighbors and good friends across the road from my family’s cabin in Ashland, NY. I grew up with their kids, Todd, and Gail, during the time I usually spent in the spring, summer, and fall in Ashland, NY, and in nearby Windham, NY. As I grew older and the years went by, I’ve got to known Judy and Gordon very well, so much they were basically family to me. Judy and Gordon helped me so many times in so many ways over many years, and I enjoyed visiting with them. After I would finish my landscaping work, such as mowing lawns, cutting trees, and moving rocks with Gordon’s help and his farm equipment, many times Judy would offer me delicious cookies and muffins she baked to satisfy my hunger and give me something to eat before my trip back home after my weekend full of work. Judy and Gordon allowed me to store my landscaping equipment in their barn for many years as well as allowing me to use their garage and tools to perform various automotive and landscaping equipment services. Judy and Gordon also helped me with a medical event I experienced by coming to check on me, while the Paramedics were tending to me, and driving my car back to my family’s cabin as I had to go to a hospital. Judy was like an aunt to me and Gordan like an uncle. They were both wonderful, kind, caring, and hardworking people, and the best neighbors I’ve known to have in my lifetime. They were not self-serving and always proceeded to try and do what was right for everyone. I’ll greatly miss Judy, as I have Gordon, and it will be lonely without their physical presence as my neighbors. I last visited with Judy in the fall 2022, and I’m sorry I didn’t get to visit with her again this year. Judy continues to be in my daily prayers, along with everyone else I pray for each day. But Judy is with Gordon again, both continuing their wonderful lives in heaven with God, and working hard as they always do to help God with his work to make life on earth and in heaven better for their family and everyone else. Judy and Gordon, I’ll see you again someday. Thank you so much for helping me and for caring for me during our time together on earth. You made my trips to Ashland, NY, so much better and fun for me. Judy, I’ll miss you dearly as you were the last of my parents’ generation of friends and family to be very close to my family’s cabin in Ashland, NY.
