Betty Ann Young Obituary

Betty Young of Ashland passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of September 6th after a long illness. Betty was born on November 8, 1944, the only child of Pauline Haight Case and Orville Case. She graduated from the Windham Ashland Jewett Central School and attended the Albany Business College. In 1964, she married the love of her life, Richard Young.

Betty worked for the Bankers’ Trust Company in Windham and continued to work for the bank through all of its name changes, ending up with Key Bank. She began as a teller and was a Branch Manager upon her retirement.

Betty was predeceased by her husband in 2015. She is survived by her sisters in law Myrtle Seaburg, Betty Mattice, Linda Chichester, and Joanne Fisher as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Betty loved to cook, listen to old country music, and sit on her front porch in the summer. Most of all though, she loved to get together with friends and family members and reminisce about the past.

A graveside service will be held at 1PM at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Ashland on Saturday, September 10, 2022. Flowers are welcome or donations in Betty’s memory can be made to the Ashland Ambulance Service.
