Obituary of Dennis Carlton Martin

Dennis C. Martin of Windham peacefully passed away on June 10,2022 with his wife Ruth and his sister Diane at his side. Dennis was born on February 4,1944 in Catskill. He grew up in Prattsville where he attended and graduated from Gilboa Conesville Central School. He retired in 2003 from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. He worked as a Conservation Officer and Forest Ranger in Greene and Columbia Counties. He loved nature and was an avid hiker. Dennis served his country in the National Guard. Dennis was active with the Masons and a number of other organizations. He is survived by his wife Ruth Kavanagh Martin, daughters Kerry Thorington and Erica Perry (Karl). He is also survived by his siblings, Sandra Meade, Sharon Clark ( Frank), Diane Martin-Widenor (Timothy) and David Martin (Jane). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his parents, Carlton and Louise Martin and his brother in law Donald Meade. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Shriners Hospital for Children 2900 Rocky Point Drive Tampa, Florida 33607 Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
