Passed away unexpectedly on April 18, 2022.  He was born in Lokve Yugoslavia on June 3, 1967 to Elena Stanciu and Traian Stanciu. 

Gabriel was a true peaceful gentle man with a big heart.  Known as Gabe to most, he was a master mechanic, a lover of the great outdoors and loved being surrounded by family and friends.   Being out in nature was his happy place.   

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth (aka Betsy), his children, Liam Gabriel, Melissa Sophia.  Gabriel Stanciu is also survived by his eldest son Nicholas Gabriel, his daughter in- law Jacqueline Stanciu, his grandson Nicholas Gabriel Jr., his mother Elena Stanciu, his siblings, Traian (aka Joe), Stella, and Gabriela, along with, brother-in law, sister-in law, nieces and nephews.   

We will all sorely miss Gabe, and keep him forever in our hearts and thoughts.  

The memorial service will be held at Decker funeral home on Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 12 PM to 3 PM.  Immediately following, from 3:30-7 PM, Elena Stanciu, Gabriel’s mother, would like to invite you to our family home in Prattsville for food and beverages.  Address provided at service or call Gabriela at (917) 721-2177.
