Obituary of Thomas P. Dignam
Thomas P Dignam, 85, a longtime resident of Ashland, NY, passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at Vassar Medical Center. Mr. Dignam was a retired telephone technician for New York Telephone Company.
Born September 5, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Mary (Burke) Dignam and Francis Dignam. Mr. Dignam attended Brooklyn NY schools. On July 13, 1957 in Brooklyn NY, he married the love of his life Elizabeth (Carboy) Dignam, who predeceased him on August 27, 2012.
Mr. Dignam is survived by five children; Dorothy, Joann, Andrew, Steven and Veronica. He is predeceased by his sixth child, Loretta Dignam. He is also survived by his sister Maureen (Dignam) Murray and brother Francis Dignam. He was a grandfather of 10 and Great Grandfather of 6.
Calling hours will be held from 2-4PM and 6-8PM on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Decker Funeral Home, 5312 Main Street Windham NY 12496. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on December 15, 2021, at 10:00AM at St. Theresa’s of the Child Jesus Church, 5188 NY-23, Windham NY 12496.
