Obituary of Joan Dimopoulos
JEWETT- Joan Dimopoulos, 82, died peacefully on Sunday, April 28, 2019. She was born in Astoria, NY on April 5, 1937 to the late Marcus and Photini (nee Pangarliotas) Gaganas.
Joan met her loving husband Christos Dimopoulos 64 years ago on the mountaintop at the Kalithea House. They married on February 23, 1958.
Along with her husband, she is survived by her children Thomas Dimopoulos and his wife Carol and Stephani Dimopoulos DiCocco and her husband Tony; her grandchildren Christian, Janna, Charlotte and Joey “Babe”.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2019 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Decker Funeral Home, 5312 Main Street, Windham, NY. A funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Assumption, 4752 NY 23, Windham with Reverend Father Iakovos Fitzpatrick officiating. Interment at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Ashland, NY.
