Joel Hunter Borrelli’s ride to the next dimension came on Monday, August 17, 2026. Born in Hunter, N.Y., he was the youngest son of the late Robert and Lucille (Becky) Borrelli.

Joel was an intelligent man with unparalleled wit, humor, and sarcasm. He was well known for his writing and loved to share snippets, short stories, and observations about life. He had a remarkable ability to create something out of nothing and could find humor even in the most challenging of situations. His quick mind and unique perspective made his stories memorable and his presence unforgettable.

Joel balanced the energy and chaos of Manhattan with the quiet serenity of the mountaintop. He was a hopeful agnostic who lived life on his own terms, always curious, thoughtful, and unafraid to see the world differently. Above all, Joel had a great deal of love for his family, both here on earth and in the great beyond.

Joel is survived by his wife, Patricia, and his two sons, Matthew and Luke Borrelli, as well as his sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and his two adored dogs, Bella and Sadie Borrelli.  In addition to his parents, Joel is predeceased by his brothers Robert “Bobby” and Roger Borrelli and his sister Rebecca Brown as well as his brothers-in-law, John Mulholland and William Maben.

Joel leaves behind not only those who loved him, but also the words, stories, laughter, and memories that will continue to carry his spirit forward. He will be deeply missed, but never without a story to tell, a smile to remember, or a little sarcasm to keep him close.
