Loleta (Dee Dee) E. Aplin passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, she was 88 years old. She was born on September 8, 1937, to Mildred and William Fisher at the family home on Ford Hill Road in Jewett. She is predeceased by her parents and all eight of her siblings: Elsie, Margaret, Violet, Gertrude, Dorla, Shirley, Leon, and Ida.

Loleta is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 64 years, Lee Aplin; their three children, Terrilee Alberti, Tod Aplin (Carol), and Troy Aplin (Cathi); her six grandchildren, Jean Jaeger, Ashley Aplin, Cassandra Aplin, Tod Aplin Jr., Samantha Aplin, and Connor Aplin; as well as six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Loleta lived a life devoted to family, community, and hard work. She graduated from Hunter-Tannersville School and began her career as an executive secretary with IBM in Kingston, New York. After getting married, she devoted herself to working alongside her husband on the family dairy farm on Sutton Hollow Road in Ashland, where they built a life together and worked the farm until her retirement in 1996. Following retirement, she found great joy in caring for and spending time with her grandchildren, cherishing the opportunity to be a part of all of their lives.

She was a proud Charter Member of the Ashland Fire Department Auxiliary, serving faithfully from 1974 to 2026. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her beloved husband, who brought her great joy. In her free time, she found happiness in gardening, crocheting, creating ceramics, and bird watching. Her creativity and love of nature were reflected in the many hobbies she enjoyed throughout her life.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She loved her family above all else and took great pride in those relationships. Her never ending support touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
