It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of Bruce G. McNab Sr, age 82, on June 22, 2026. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. 

Bruce was born on July 29, 1943, in Brooklyn, NY to Donald and Isabella McNab, he graduated from Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn. Throughout his life he had many jobs and they all have one thing in common; he chose to protect and serve.  

First his country, He proudly served in the U.S. Army, the U.S. Navy, and went on to retire as a Sgt. from the Army National Guard. Then in his community, he was an NYPD officer, a US Marshall, a Court Officer, and retired from the New York State Police. 

He was President of the Greene County Police Officers Association for 17 years, President of the Knights of the Road for 20+ years, Past Director of the Mountain Top Little League. He was a past member of Hensonville Hose Co, a past officer and member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, a member of the American Legion Post 1416, a member of Assoc. Of Retired New York State Troopers. 

He loved his family and friends, his dogs, and his brothers in gray. 

He enjoyed hunting season, any excuse to be at the camp, and boating. 

Bruce is predeceased by his Parents, Donald and Isabella, his brother Donald, and his son Davis. 

He is survived by his wife Loretta, Sons Bruce Jr. and James (Faith), Daughters Cynthia (Jeff), Heather, and Heidi (Kyle), His nephew Donald, Eleven Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. 

His love for his family and friends, his sense of humor, his courage, his strength, and his stubbornness made him into the amazing man he was. There will never be another like him, he may be gone, but he will never be forgotten. 

Care has been entrusted to Decker Funeral Home, 5312 Route 23, Windham NY. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Monday, June 29th from 3 to 7pm, A funeral service will be offered on Tuesday, June 30th at 10 am at the Windham-Hensonville United Methodist Church, 5296  Route23, Windham, NY; burial will follow the at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Ashland, NY.
