In Loving Memory of David Leonard Rabin

It is with deep sadness and profound love that we announce the passing of David Leonard Rabin. David was born to the union of Helen and Samuel Rabin, in Brooklyn, NY on November 10, 1945 and passed peacefully in his mountain home, surrounded by the love and comfort of his wife Ann-Marie on June 4, 2026.

David brought warmth, laughter, and kindness to all who knew or met him. He had a quick smile, ready handshake and if you wanted to talk sports, he was your man. He began working as a criminal defense attorney for New York’s Legal Aid Society in the seventies. He fought injustice and spent much of his life being a voice for the voiceless and boy what a voice. He embodied the gift of gab. He was a tireless advocate, formidable opponent and a wise mentor. He taught many upcoming defense attorneys the craft of being a zealous advocate.

David loved his home in the mountains and entertaining family and friends there. David was an enthusiastic and patient father, grandfather and uncle. He loved making innovative dishes for his grandchildren such as buttered noodles, chicken parm, Yankees style garlic parm fries and would always get them Stewart’s ice cream. He would spend countless hours with them building fires, catching frogs, swimming, building snowmen, apple picking, and exploring nature. David loved spending time, especially Christmas get togethers, with his neighbors Jason, Nichole and their children Jordan, Jada, and Emily.

Although he is no longer with us, he lives on through the countless lives he touched.

David is survived by his wife, Ann Marie, his daughters Laura (Sam) and Michele (David), his five grandchildren, Sean (Veronika), Joseph (Chisela), Nathan (Emily), Jacob (Alexa), Sara, his two great grandchildren, Jayce and Freya, his brother Edward (Vivian), his in-laws John (Yvonne), James, Thomas, Mary (Colm), and Bridget (Michael) , his nieces and nephews Richard, Michael, Patrick, Ryan, Katie, Tommy, Niamh, Michael, and Finnbar, and his loyal companion Koda.

He was predeceased by his brother Alan (Anne), his uncle Stanley, and his cousin Alan.

As we mourn David’s going, we also celebrate his precious life. May David’s memory bring comfort and inspiration, reminding us to live each day with love and purpose. Rest in peace David. You will be forever missed and always remembered.

Memorial Calling Hours will be held on Monday, June 8th from 4:00 to 5:30 PM at Decker Funeral Home 5312 Main Street, Windham.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 8th at 5:30 PM at Decker Funeral Home with Rabbi Zoe B. Zack.
