Obituary of Lambros C. Flouras
Lambros C. Flouras, a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, leaving behind a life defined by hard work and deep love for family and community.
Lambros was born in Chios, Greece, to Konstantinos and Despina Flouras and was raised in the village of Agios Georgios Sikousis. At just 15 years old, he immigrated to New York City in search of opportunity, carrying with him his heritage, work ethic, and unwavering determination.
By the age of 17, Lambros began his career in the hotel and banquet industry. Through decades of dedication and excellence, he worked his way up to Banquet Captain at the New York Palace Hotel. His career was not just a job, but a testament to his commitment, professionalism, and pride in providing for his family.
After retirement, Lambros settled in Greene County, New York, where he embraced a quieter life. He enjoyed hunting, staying informed on current events, and spending time surrounded by the people he loved most.
Above all, Lambros was known for his enormous heart and generosity. He was a man who gave freely, never expecting anything in return. His home was always open, his door never closed, and there was always an extra place setting at the table, just in case someone stopped by. Whether family, friend, or stranger, anyone who entered his home was treated with warmth, kindness, and respect.
Lambros was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Eleftherios. He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Mary, his brother, Elias, and his children, Constantinos, Despina, and Ioannis Elias. He also leaves behind his loving nieces, nephews, and grandchildren, who will carry his stories, values, and legacy forward for generations to come.
Lambros will be remembered for his strength, quiet wisdom, generosity, and the deep love he had for his family and his Greek roots. His life was one of sacrifice, purpose, and enduring devotion.
