Obituary of Jeff Ostrander
Jeffrey Allan Ostrander, age 57, of Gilboa, New York, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025, in Cobleskill, New York. Born February 10, 1968, in Holyoke, Massachusetts, he was a son of Vernon A. and Elizabeth A. Ostrander.
Jeff embraced a craft he loved, attending William J. Dean Vocational-Technical High School, where he learned carpentry, a path that shaped much of his life. He dedicated 17 years of his career to the New York Department of Transportation as a supervisor, earning the respect and friendship of many colleagues and neighbors along the way. Jeff was also a devoted outdoorsman who cherished fishing and hunting with family and friends over the years.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife, BobbieJo Ostrander; his mother, Elizabeth A. Ostrander; his brothers, Mark A. Ostrander, and Eric J. Ostrander; sister-in-law Pauline Ostrander; sister Robyn L. Foster and brother-in-law Matthew Foster; his father- and mother-in-law, Ed and Wilma McCarthy; his daughter-in-law, Veronica Underwood; and his grandson, Shaun Underwood; As well as Robert Underwood, Raymond Underwood, Amy Underwood, William and Donna Underwood.
He was deeply loved by a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a wide circle of friends who will hold him in their hearts.

There will be no services at this time; a celebration of Jeff’s life will take place in the spring of 2026, with time and date to be announced to family and friends.
