Obituary of Patricia W. Simmons

Patricia (Winchell) Simmons, 80, of Ashland, passed away on Friday, September 26, after a brief illness at Westchester Medical Center.

She was born in Kingston, New York in 1945, Patricia lived a life defined by love, resilience, and family.

She was preceded in death by her older brother Clifford Irvin Winchell, her parents Irvin and Gertrude Winchell, her husband Herbert Simmons, and a cherished daughter Vanessa O’Keefe. Patricia’s devotion to her family was evident in every moment she shared with them.

She is survived by her children and their partners: Clifford (Laura Bryan) of Windham, Alicja of Ohio, Bonnie of Ashland, and Heather (Frank) of Prattsville. She cherished her grandchildren Veronica, Kyle, Jessica, Seth, and Matthew, as well as several great-grandchildren, whose lives were brightened by her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering support. Patricia’s journey was one of love, faith, and quiet strength.

She faced life’s challenges with grace, always ready with a kind word, a comforting hug, or a piece of practical advice that only a mother and grandmother could offer. Her memory will continue to radiate through the lives of her family and all who knew her.
