Obituary of Margaret M. Walsh

Margaret M. Walsh, lovingly known as Margie, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, in Haines Falls, NY, surrounded by the love and comfort of family and friends. Born on July 9, 1954, in Brooklyn, NY, she was the cherished daughter of the late Hugh and Kathleen McLean. Margie was raised in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, and later made homes in Tappan, New York City, and Haines Falls—each place touched by her warmth, humor, and grace.

A graduate of Brooklyn College, Margie went on to earn her Master’s degree from Iona College and completed her Executive Coach Certification at Columbia University. She began her career in Human Resources at Manufacturers Hanover Trust and Participants Trust, but it was as a Master Executive Coach that she truly found her calling. Margie had the extraordinary ability to connect with others, guiding countless individuals toward clarity in their professional lives. She mentored aspiring coaches at Columbia University, where her impact continues.

Margie is survived by her devoted husband, William (Bill) Walsh; her beloved sons Keith Walsh, and Erik Walsh and his wife Jacki; her granddaughter Ryleigh, who brought her endless joy; her sister Kathleen McLean and brother-in-law Louis Iacono; her brothers Hugh McLean (and wife Anne) and James McLean (and wife Jodi). Margie was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews, cousins, and a dear friend to so many whose lives were brightened by her presence.

Margie and Bill were always the first on the dance floor, lighting the way for others with their joy and energy. She was the hostess of unforgettable New Year’s Eve celebrations and had a deep love for travel, adventure, and making memories with those she loved.

Margie was a marvel—brilliant, compassionate, and endlessly supportive. Her laughter was contagious and her presence a true gift to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.

To know Margie was to love Margie.

In honor of Holy Week, the church will not be accepting flowers. The family kindly asks that, in lieu of floral tributes, donations be made to one of the following organizations that were close to Margie’s heart: the American Cancer Society at www.donate.cancer.org.     the National Kidney Foundation at www.kidney.org ,  Tunnel to Towers Foundation , www.t2t.org.  or Wounded Warrior Project, www.support.woundedwarriorproject.org.

Your generosity in her memory is deeply appreciated.

Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday, April 15th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church 67 N Lake Rd, Haines Falls. Mass will follow on  Tuesday, April 15th at noon at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church.
